Week Four: Start!

And we begin week four. This course is FLYING by!

I spent a wee time this weekend stepping into the Object Oriented Programing (OOP) chapter. But I spent most of my weekend mentally decompressing by watching World War Z and the BBC’s Sherlock (amazing series).

After going through the basics of classes, objects, attributes, inheritance, etc. I now see the reason and necessity for OOP. It’s really nothing more than arrays and rather in-depth functions. I’ve been told that if I can complete the OOP, MVC, and CodeIgniter courses by Wednesday or Thursday I’ll be allowed to continue onto Node JS early. Woo!

Anyway, heres to week four!

Day 15, Friday

I’m finally finished with the beast of the week! Woo!

I completely finished the massive Ajax assignment that was dominating me for most of the week. Not only did I finish it, but it works perfectly! And it looks great. So +10 points for moi.

Next step: CodeIgniter, MVC framework, and OOP (Object Oriented Programing). I plan on spending all next week hammering out those assignments and then I’m off to work on my first project. Heck – yes.

In other news, I’m debating on going to San Francisco this weekend for a break. I had a bit of “me time” on Wednesday when I went and watched Man of Steel (finally) and I think I have some more wind in my sails. We’ll see.
